Ouch… is looks like some innovative constituency service.

In the year since the Schaumburg Township GOP reinvented itself, Republicans have gone from a penniless bunch in total disarray to a well-organized group with cash in the bank.

The Schaumburg Township Republican Organization formed last summer after party leader and state Rep. Paul Froehlich switched sides to become a Democrat.

At the time, the group had no funding, no office and no Web site. All it did have was about 100 dedicated Republicans who showed up for a meeting at Schaumburg Town Hall hosted by newly appointed Committeeman Mike Adelizzi.

After its first year in business, STRO now has a storefront office at 837 W. Higgins Road in Schaumburg along with a Web site, stgop.org.

And according to financial disclosures filed with the state, STRO raised $22,336 during the first half of the year…
